Janna — The Phoenix

Koh Samui, Thailand

Walking through fire, returning to the light.

I nearly died. I suffered third-degree burns over 63 % of my body. Today, I'm rebuilding my life — one villa, one book, one breath at a time.

— Welcome to the world of the Phoenix.

My story

The fire didn't create my wounds. It made visible the ones I already carried. Then came the embers — almost extinguished, and it's in them that the warmth remains.

My reconstruction resembles them: slow, quiet, almost invisible. I erase nothing of what happened. I simply carry it differently.

Since then, I've opened a villa above the sea, written a book, and learned to make my body an ally rather than an adversary — on a yoga mat, or in front of a punching bag.

I am the way I move through the world. »

The Phoenix Journey

A book about transformation, reconstruction, motherhood, roots and rebirth — not a victim's story: a story of crossing through.

Journey
« The phoenix doesn't erase the fire. It carries its knowledge. »
« Rebirth doesn't look like fireworks. It looks like a seed. »
« Today I close the book of my survival. I open the one of my rebirth. »

Small confession: this was my very first publication, and I misspelled my own name on the cover. The corrected version is coming very soon — in the meantime, the story itself is right there.

A life in motion

Travels

Before it became the place where I rebuilt myself, Asia was a land I crossed, again and again.

Cambodia and Laos — I've returned so many times that those roads are now part of me, more than destinations, almost inner landmarks. Hong Kong, Australia, and then Thailand, where I finally set down my bags.

I never traveled to collect passport stamps. I believe every border I crossed shifted something in me, without my knowing it at the time.

Maybe that's why, today, when someone arrives at Villa Zayana exhausted by their own life, I recognize that look. I've had it too, on a night bus between two cities whose names I've forgotten.

Reconnecting with the body

Yoga & Sound Healing

Two practices I adopted during my reconstruction, and now share here in Koh Samui.

Janna, yoga and sound healing practitioner

Yoga and sound bath didn't come after my reconstruction — they were part of it. Today I teach them with the same sincerity that carried me: no promise of miracles, just a space to come back to your body.

Sound bath

An hour lying by the sea or on your bed, cradled by the vibrations of bowls, gongs and sacred instruments. An inner journey, between sky, sea and silence — available on-site at Villa Zayana.

Yoga

A space to relearn how to inhabit your body, at your own pace — at the villa or around the island. By request, one-on-one or for a small group.

A partner I recommend

Prism Padel

For anyone dreaming of a private padel court — at home, at their hotel, or on their property.

Padel has become one of the fastest-growing sports in the world, and Prism Padel builds the courts to match — turnkey, from concept to delivery. Founded in 2021 by players and club owners, the company has since delivered over 100 courts in 10+ countries, across four continents. Their work has been featured in Tatler Asia, Condé Nast, CNA Luxury and Padel Magazine.

Here in Koh Samui, I've watched them build several courts — including Prime Padel Samui, Padel Tropical and Padel Samui. This isn't an empty recommendation: I know their work up close.

If you're in Switzerland and considering a private padel court — for your home, your hotel or your club — Prism Padel handles everything: design, manufacturing, shipping, construction and support after opening.

« Always reachable, always attentive to detail. »
